Watch Out! The Veil Destroys Votes!

For whatever idiot reason, there’s a push right now in Parliament to ban Muslim women from wearing veils when voting. Presumably, the presence of a veil totally invalidates the vote;
Official : “I’m sorry, you need to remove your veil.”
Woman: “But why?”
Official : “If you vote without removing your veil, you poison the entire region’s vote! […]

Limb-Loss

At least, it seems like it. I forgot my iPod at home today. Hopefully I won’t end up curled in a ball and shivering under my desk at work.

Not a Clone

I went to go vote. Since I moved recently, I wasn’t on the list. Turns out my Health card with my picture, address and name weren’t enough to prove it was me. They needed something else with my name and address on it.
Doubtlessly they feared my evil clone might have voted on my behalf.

Yay, Everyone’s Mad!

It turns out I wasn’t the only one pissed off on Saturday during the horrible move event;

Philip was annoyed at me for being in such a bad mood.
Philip’s friend’s family was mad because I didn’t help much. Apparently I’m both lazy and selfish.
Philip’s friend was mad at his fiancé for no reason.
Philip’s […]

Save Me From Disorg!

At this very moment, I’m sitting here while we wait for people to actually pack their stuff. Apparently these people don’t believe in packing ahead of time, so Bryan’s place is filled with debris and random tiny kid things.
While the one relative of his is kinda hot, the rest are very… Well, there’s white […]

*Whine*

If you all haven’t noticed yet, I’m incredibly lazy. I keep the laziness under control most days, but on the weekends I feel (and act) like I have a god-given right to be lazy.
That’s why I’m irritated to be up at this hour, going to help Philip’s friend move. And there won’t even be any […]

Mainstreeting

This is a really stupid practice (optics notwithstanding). I don’t care if the premier (or whoever) meets me and seems sociable. His job isn’t to be nice, or to get chummy with me, it’s to govern. Watching a politician participate in some farm tractor contest or whatever doesn’t make him an expert on rural issues.
If […]

FaceBook : Perfect for Offending the In-Laws

I complained, as I’m wont to do, on my FaceBook about Philip’s toddling nephew. It turns out that Philip’s sister saw the comment, and is now incredibly offended.  Apparently my obvious unease when he was running around (and the request that she control him, which she ignored), didn’t tip her off that I was tired […]
