Mainstreeting
This is a really stupid practice (optics notwithstanding). I don’t care if the premier (or whoever) meets me and seems sociable. His job isn’t to be nice, or to get chummy with me, it’s to govern. Watching a politician participate in some farm tractor contest or whatever doesn’t make him an expert on rural issues.
If you put too much weight on the politician’s regular guy attitude, you get this commander guy;
